IT Technical Administrator II

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for the tracking, oversight, and administration of policies relating to the command-wide software compliance program; area includes:  software acquisition, copying, licensing, logging, inventory, disposition, network user accountability, and adherence to Army regulations and Certification and Accreditation requirements.
  • Reviews and monitors network and user accounts for proper utilization and licensing of software.
  • Works with Information Assurance in providing oversight into all areas of USAG-KA software compliance to include monitoring for and reporting of unauthorized use and abuse of software.
  • Maintains an updated software baseline for the tracking and storage of all USAG-KA software.
  • Compiles statistical data related to software accountability and/or compliance.
  • Assists in the development of software compliance related policies and procedures.
  • Participates in departmental quality assurance activities.
  • Works closely with the Information Systems Procurement department for software acquisitions.
  • Assists the Configuration Management (CM) team with CM processes as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as directed.
JOB SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
Required: 
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service in a fast paced, high volume environment.
  • Ability to analyze, review, and process software related data.
  • Ability to provide oversight and feedback on software issues.
  • Ability to learn to use and maintain an automated software licensing and compliance tracking system.
  • Able to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability working with standard automated office applications.
  • Demonstrated ability working with Microsoft Office.
Desired: 
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma program tools and methodologies and/or Six Sigma Certification.
  • Thorough understanding of government and DoD software accountability and/or compliance regulations.
  • Typical end user knowledge of SharePoint.
  • Prior experience in Software Compliance and/or customer service.  
EXPERIENCE (Years):
Required: 
  • 2 years working in a computer related position to include knowledge of computer hardware and software.
  • 6 years of experience in a computer related position may be considered in lieu of bachelor's degree.    
Desired: 
  • 6 years of experience working in a computer related position to include knowledge of computer hardware and software with a bachelor's degree in related discipline.
EDUCATION:
Required: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 6 years of experience in a computer related position may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Security+ certification or the ability to pass the Security+ exam prior to employment.
Desired: 
  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline with 6 years of experience.
OTHER SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Common Access Card (CAC) required to perform job duties.
  • This position is unaccompanied.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • US DoD Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one is required.
  • Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Kwajalein Atoll.
  • Traveling to Kwajalein Atoll, you are required to have a valid passport in your possession prior to relocation. You must maintain a current passport during your stay on Kwajalein Atoll.
