Human Resources Generalist III

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for and subject matter expert in the employment process: requisition, candidate selection, authorization to hire, personnel action notice, offer package, employment pre-screening and deployment.
  • Develops and utilizes unique recruiting sources that results in highly qualified applications and selections; develops and executes recruiting plans.
  • Posts openings in newspaper advertisements, with professional organizations, and other appropriate venues.
  • Reviews applicants to evaluate if they meet the position requirements.
  • Prepares and sends employment offer packages; pre-screens and deploys employees and/or dependents.
  • Tracks and maintains all HR records, ensuring that files are compliant with employment laws and practices.
  • Compiles, analyzes and prepares information for reports related to employment practices.
  • Completes rotational assignments including but not limited to compliance reporting (EEO, VETS100, FMLA), training, unemployment claims, and safety committees.
  • Maintains the highest level of confidentiality and sensitivity to all HR related matters and information.
  • Works in compliance with established procedures and/or protocols.
  • Actively promotes and adheres to safety, ethics and security procedures.
  • Performs other duties of a similar or related level and assists with special projects as necessary or assigned.
JOB SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
Required: 
  • Extensive knowledge of employment laws and practices.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use good judgment when communicating sensitive matters.
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to maintain professional composure under difficult and changing circumstances.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products: creating spreadsheets, organizing electronic data and enhancing presentation materials.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally and courteously with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to actively promote and adhere to safety, ethics and security procedures.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
Desired: 
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma program tools and methodologies and/or Six Sigma Certification.       
EXPERIENCE (Years):
Required: 
  • 5 years of progressive human resources work experience with a bachelors degree in a related discipline.   
Desired: 
  • 8 years of progressive human resources work experience.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification or equivalent.
EDUCATION:
Required: 
  • Bachelor degree in related discipline.
  • A combination of directly related experience and education may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree. 
OTHER SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Common Access Card (CAC) required to perform job duties.
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
