Information Assurance Security Specialist Officer

Location: Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supports the Cybersecurity office in Certification & Accreditation efforts across a range of classified and unclassified networks.
  • Interprets and enforces DoD/Army Regulations and Cybersecurity policies.
  • Performs vulnerability scanning and interprets/reports results.
  • Conducts research into vulnerabilities and Cybersecurity alerts as issued by the DoD and other related offices.
  • Audits systems for security compliance to include validation of DoD Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) requirements and audit log reviews.
  • Performs as part of the Cybersecurity incident response team.
  • Conduct internal audits to support internal, Site Assistance Visit (SAV), Command Cyber Readiness Inspections (CCRI), and Security Control Assessor (SCA) inspections.
  • Interfaces with database, network, system administrators, and help desk personnel to explain open findings and required resolution.
  • Participates in weekly staff meetings and other meetings on an as needed/required basis.
  • Works with minimal supervision in a deployed environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 
JOB SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
Required: 
  • Demonstrated  ability with Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) platform for vulnerability management.
  • Knowledge of Army Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) program processes.
  • In depth understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy management.
  • Skilled in reviewing and applying Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) and checklist requirements.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills for supporting complex hardware, software, and a network environment.
  • Working knowledge administrating Windows Server 2008, 2012 and Windows 7, 10 operating systems.
  • Demonstrated ability supporting DIACAP or NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) in a DoD Environment.
  • Excellent English verbal and writing skills including reporting and procedure documentation.
  • Working knowledge of Army and DoD regulations/policies.
Desired: 
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma program tools and methodologies and/or Six Sigma Certification.
  • Knowledge of DoD Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS).
  • System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) experience.
  • Capable of performing wireless scans utilizing the Flying squirrel application.
  • Working knowledge of Host Based Security System (HBSS).
  • Capable of performing and auditing Data Transfers Across Security Domains (DTASD)
  • Hands-on experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project.
  • Unix/Linux administration and security configuration experience.  
EXPERIENCE (Years):
Required: 
  • 5 years of experience in Cybersecurity, Systems Administration, Network Administration, or technical support of an Enterprise environment.   
Desired: 
  • 7 years of experience in Cybersecurity, preferably in a Department of Defense environment.
EDUCATION:
Required: 
  • Bachelor degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field. 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
  • Current CompTIA Security+ or similar certifications meeting DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II requirements for Information Assurance.
  • Current Computing Environment (CE) certification, i.e. Linux+, or MCSA: Windows Server, Cisco CCNA, etc.
Desired: 
  • Microsoft OS, Cisco, Linux or related certification.
OTHER SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Common Access Card (CAC) required to perform job duties.
  • This position is accompanied.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Active US DoD Secret clearance is required.
  • Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Kwajalein Atoll.
  • Traveling to Kwajalein Atoll, you and your dependents are required to have a valid passport in your possession prior to relocation.  You and your dependents must maintain a current passport during your stay on Kwajalein Atoll.
