Hardware Engineer III

Location: Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands

  • Responsible for supporting the ALTAIR radar system in all major engineering disciplines.
  • Observes, tests, and evaluates complex radar mechanical, electrical and RF systems to diagnose and repair component failures.
  • Leads and participates in maintenance, calibration, testing and modification of the antenna and transmitter systems.
  • Leads design inputs for equipment modifications and repairs.
  • Works at heights up to 150 feet.
  • Responsible for Engineering design changes when assigned.
  • Executes the PST and ECP process, and updates drawings as required.
  • Supports day-to-day operations to meet radar mission requirements.
  • Performs occasional shift work to support operational tasking.
  • Adheres to Company safety policies, procedures and programs.
  • Supports mission customers through assigned positions during mission execution.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively understand and re-design if necessary, complex mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Willingness and physical ability to work at heights in excess of 150 feet.
  • Willingness and physical ability to carry equipment weighing 20 lbs.
  • Willingness and ability to perform occasional shift work to support operational tasking.
  • Ability to read and create mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Proficiency in computer hardware and software.
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma program tools and methodologies and/or Six Sigma Certification.
  • Working knowledge of large mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology; this includes applying principles, techniques, and procedures of mechanical systems.
  • Specific skills and knowledge related to movable antenna systems, gear boxes, electrical servo systems, large brake systems and/or large electric motors.
  • Understanding of high voltage safety and Radio Frequency (RF) safety.
  • Design drawing software skills, examples include AutoCAD and SolidWorks.  
  • 5 years of experience in a major engineering field with a Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline.
  • OR 3 years of experience in a major engineering field with a Master of Science degree in an engineering discipline.    
  • 10+ years of experience in a major engineering field.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline with 5 years of experience.
  • Master of Science degree in a major engineering discipline with 3 years of experience.
  • Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Certifications
  • PE certification or credit hours towards certification. 
  • Common Access Card (CAC) required to perform job duties.
  • US DoD Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one is required.
  • US Citizen is required.
  • This position is unaccompanied.
  • Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Kwajalein Atoll.
  • Traveling to Kwajalein Atoll, you are required to have a valid passport in your possession prior to relocation.
  • You must maintain a current passport during your stay on Kwajalein Atoll.
