Systems Administrator - Unix III

Location: Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Builds, administers, maintains, and manages all aspects of the VMware environment.
  • Installs, configures and manages Enterprise level Unix/Linux systems.
  • Deploys, monitors and manages Windows server environment.
  • Deploys and maintains SAN solutions.
  • Monitors backup and recovery systems.
  • Performs high level troubleshooting and work on system design aspects in a team environment.
  • Performs other day-to-day server issues and projects as needed.
JOB SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
Required: 
  • Extensive background in Unix and Windows system architecture and administration.
  • Demonstrated ability analyzing and troubleshooting system performance over the LAN/WAN.
  • Demonstrated ability with backup software in a medium server environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge with Windows Server environment, ESXi/VMware Virtual Infrastructure, HP-UX Severs, SAN architecture, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Thin Client/Zero Client solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability managing MS SQL, IIS, SCCM, WSUS and WDS.
  • Demonstrated ability in applying DISA STIG's.
Desired: 
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma program tools and methodologies and/or Six Sigma Certification.
  • HEAT, PowerShell, Database Administration.  
EXPERIENCE (Years):
Required: 
  • 5+ years of experience in a related field.   
Desired: 
  • 8+ years of experience in a related field.
EDUCATION:
Required: 
  • BA/BS in related field of study.
  • Linux+ or server certification.
  • CompTIA Security+.
Desired: 
  • VMware, CISSP, MCSE or equivalent level certification.
OTHER SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Common Access Card (CAC) required to perform job duties.
  • This position is unaccompanied.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Active US DoD Secret clearance is required.
  • Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Kwajalein Atoll.
  • Traveling to Kwajalein Atoll, you are required to have a valid passport in your possession prior to relocation. You must maintain a current passport during your stay on Kwajalein Atoll.
