Property Specialist I

Location: Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Accounts for Government property in accordance with regulations, contract requirements, company policies/procedures, and sound business practice.  
  • Performs assignments for various property management functions such as Acquisition, Receiving, Identification, Records, Movement, Storage, Physical Inventory, Reporting, Consumption, Utilization, Maintenance, Sub-Contracts, and Disposition.
  • Identifies, researches and records incoming equipment in coordination with procurement and receiving functions.
  • Creates and distributes property listings and reports.
  • Conducts inventories or spot checks, and reconciles results to update records.
  • Assists Property Custodians and other customers in implementation of property processes to meet requirements and maintain accurate equipment accounts.
  • Records information regarding equipment location, condition, and disposition.
  • Processes Movement and Transfer Documents, Cannibalization Requests, Loss, Damage, and Destruction (LDD) reports and other property documentation.
  • Implements Preventive Maintenance program requirements such as tracking equipment, schedules, records, training contacts, auditing and reporting results.
  • Assists in identification and preparation of excess property for transfer or disposal.
  • Conducts audits in various functional areas pertaining to property.  
  • Participates in custodian training sessions and maintenance of related records.
  • Identifies and diligently pursues resolution of issues and discrepancies.
  • Collects and reports data to measure process performance.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
JOB SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
Required: 
  • Proficiency using asset management databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform inventories including reconciliation to records.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel including creation of spreadsheets, formulas and charts.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and team-player ability.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in English, both reading and writing.
  • Ability to write clear and accurate summary reports.
  • Excellent customer interaction skills.
Desired: 
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma program tools and methodologies and/or Six Sigma Certification.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. Federal and Department of Defense government property regulations, principles, concepts, practices, and standards. 
  • Working knowledge of military equipment procedures, cataloguing, supply and requisitioning systems including KEAMS (Ellipse) and Barcode Scanner.  
EXPERIENCE (Years):
Required: 
  • 0-2 years working in government contract property management or as a military equipment specialist and a Bachelor's Degree in property management, business, accounting, supply chain management, acquisitions or related.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.   
Desired: 
  • 2 or more years working in government contract property management.
EDUCATION:
Required: 
  • Bachelor's Degree in property management, business, accounting, supply chain management, acquisitions or related and 0-2 years working in government contract property management or as a military equipment specialist.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Desired: 
  • Certified as a Professional Property Specialist (CPPS) through the NPMA.
  • Certified as a Six Sigma Yellow Belt.
OTHER SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Common Access Card (CAC) required to perform job duties.
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
  • This position is unaccompanied
  • Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Kwajalein Atoll.
  • Traveling to Kwajalein Atoll, you are required to have a valid passport in your possession prior to relocation.
  • You must maintain a current passport during your stay on Kwajalein Atoll.
