Network Engineer II MO

Location: Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assumes direct responsibility for the unclassified range networks.
  • Organizes and maintains network documentation.
  • Maintains network baselines.
  • Maintains standard network practices and procedures.
  • Performs and documents periodic network performance testing.
  • Ensures and inventories appropriate network device spares.
  • Troubleshoots network systems in the field and determines corrective actions.
  • Schedules and verifies preventive maintenance of network devices.
  • Provides tier II network systems troubleshooting as required.
  • Maintains a log and reports network outages.
  • Cross trains other network personnel on principle network.
  • Prepares reports, studies, and research as requested.
  • Provides technical assistance to other team members as needed.
  • Provides ongoing improvements and long-term support for networks in accordance with accreditation and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
JOB SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
Required: 
  • Demonstrated ability planning and implementing Cisco network environments (catalyst switches, routers, firewalls, etc.)
  • Ability to use network troubleshooting protocols.
  • Demonstrated ability supporting accreditations, preferably DIACAP/RMF.
  • Excellent English verbal and writing skills including report preparation.
  • Excellent customer interaction skills.
Desired: 
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma program tools and methodologies and/or Six Sigma Certification.
  • Demonstrated ability in supporting DoD Networks.
  • Familiarity with Cisco Secure Access Control Server (ACS) or Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).
  • Ability to support Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC).
  • Knowledge of network monitoring and auditing using Solarwinds and Cisco Prime.
EXPERIENCE (Years):
Required: 
  • 3 years of experience in Cisco based network design, implementation and troubleshooting.
  • 4 additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree. 
Desired: 
  • 5 years of experience in Cisco based network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
EDUCATION:
Required: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Network Technology, Computer Science, or Information Systems Management.
  • High School diploma with 4 additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Security+ or equivalent DoD Directive 8570.01-m certifications.
Desired: 
  • Current CCNP certification.
OTHER SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Common Access Card (CAC) required to perform job duties.
  • This position is unaccompanied. 
  • US Citizenship is required. 
  • US DoD Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one is required.
  • Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Kwajalein Atoll.
  • Traveling to Kwajalein Atoll, you are required to have a valid passport in your possession prior to relocation.  You must maintain a current passport during your stay on Kwajalein Atoll.
