Field Engineer II

Location: Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Island

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assists engineering staff with operations, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, repair and modification of the high-power TRADEX L-band/S-band radar transmitters; equipment includes but is not limited to high-powered Klystrons, TWTs, beam switch tubes, solid state amplifiers, associated microwave transmission systems, RF microwave components. 
  • Assists with equipment design modifications, including fabrication, drawings and testing.
  • Performs necessary diagnostics and repair of radar equipment. 
  • Supports day-to-day operations with the Radar Operations Director to meet 24x7 radar mission requirements.
  • Performs occasional shift work to support operational tasking.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

JOB SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
Required: 
  • Excellent working understanding of engineering practices including but not limited to:
    • Soldering
    • Circuit board assembly
    • System and component level troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, spectrum  analyzers, power meters, and other RF test equipment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness and physical ability to climb and work at heights.
  • Willingness and physical ability to carry equipment weighing 50 lbs.
 Desired: 
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma program tools and methodologies and/or Six Sigma Certification.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the following:
    • High power RF systems.
    • Microwave transmitters.
    • Transmission systems
    • High-voltage power supplies.
    • Insulating oil processing techniques.
    • High Voltage safe work practices.
  • Microsoft Visio, HFSS, MS Project, or Solidworks software tools.
 
EXPERIENCE (Years):
Required: 
  • 15 years of directly related electronic systems experience. 
 Desired: 
  • Electronic systems experience that includes high power RF, Radar, or High Voltage.
 
 
EDUCATION:
Required: 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
 Desired: 
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
 
OTHER SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Common Access Card (CAC) required to perform job duties.
  • This position is unaccompanied
  • US Citizenship required.
  • US DoD Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one is required.
  • Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Kwajalein Atoll.
  • Traveling to Kwajalein Atoll, you are required to have a valid passport in your possession prior to relocation.
  • You must maintain a current passport during your stay on Kwajalein Atoll.
