Calibration Technician III

Location: Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Uses Measurement Standards in conjunction with U.S. Army, Air Force, Navy, MFR, and Local Calibration procedures.
  • Tests, repairs, and calibrates TMDE following standard metrology and USATA guidelines.
  • Assists with training of laboratory personnel and TMDE coordinators.
  • Conducts Quality Assurance Audits and End Item inspections in accordance with U.S. Army guidance.
  • Maintains current knowledge and skills pertaining to new methods of calibration and standards.
  • Uses and revises Army ICE, Fluke MetCal, and SureCal Automated Programs to verify TMDE.
  • Uses computer software to perform parts research, prepare required calibration and correction charts, and submit changes to calibration procedures.
  • Performs production control procedures as needed or assigned.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
JOB SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
Required: 
  • Working knowledge of Electronic Principles, Radio Frequency, Microwave, DC/LO, and Physical/Dimensional procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively troubleshoot electronic equipment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to self-start and work independently.
Desired: 
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma program tools and methodologies and/or Six Sigma Certification.
  • Knowledge in calibration software programming.
  • Ability to troubleshoot measurement systems.
  • Use of automated calibration procedures.
  • Experienced in electronic equipment repair.   
EXPERIENCE (Years):
Required: 
  • Five (5) years calibrating experience in a Military, Commercial or Private Industry Calibration Laboratory within the last ten (10) years.  
Desired: 
  • Eight (8) years calibration experience.
  • Four (4) consecutive years of recent calibrating experience in a Military, Commercial, or Private Industry Laboratory.
  • Experienced in commercial automated calibration programs: Army ICE Automated Calibration Software; SureCal, MetCal and MetTeam, LogWareIII Software, and TIMMS Database Management.
EDUCATION:
Required: 
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Valid Driver License or the ability to obtain one.
Desired: 
  • Military Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) Certificate.
  • Military and/or civilian courses in Metrology.
OTHER SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Common Access Card (CAC) required to perform job duties.
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
  • This position is unaccompanied.
  • Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Kwajalein Atoll (Marshall Islands).
  • Traveling to Kwajalein Atoll, you are required to have a valid passport in your possession prior to relocation.
  • You must maintain a current passport during your stay on Kwajalein Atoll.
