Project Planner III

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Accomplishes project objectives by managing matrixed resources and project activities.
  • Develops, tracks and reports schedules and enforces policies and procedures.  Plans, coordinates and directs installation of electronic equipment.
  • Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
  • Meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements; contributes to the annual budgeting process, develops spending profiles, analyzes variances and initiates corrective actions.
  • Accepts ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; explores opportunities to add value to job accomplishments; identifies methods of reducing costs.
  • Resolves logistics issues such as Entry/Exit, badging facility access and transportation for TDY/Subcontractors.
  • Obtains logistics supports for construction and electrical requirements through a work request process.
  • Tracks, supports and resolves issues with logistics support to meet installation schedules.
  • Inspects work for standards compliance and workmanship.
  • Provides written and oral progress reports to management.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
JOB SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
Required: 
  • Proficient in use of all Microsoft Office applications, with emphasis on MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Project.
  • Proficient with Adobe Software Applications.
  • Knowledge of KEAMS (Kwajalein Enterprise Asset Management System).
  • Good written and oral communications abilities.
  • Good organizational and multitasking abilities. 
  • Leadership qualities and the ability to learn technical information to a conceptual level quickly. 
Desired: 
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma program tools and methodologies and/or Six Sigma Certification.
  • Knowledgeable with disposition of Government Furnished Property (GFP) and Contract Acquired Property (CAP) and reutilization priorities set by the Department of the Army, Kwajalein Atoll.     
EXPERIENCE (Years):
Required: 
  • 5 years of experience working in Project Controls or related field with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or related discipline.
  • 7 years of directly related on the job experience working in Project Controls or related field with an Associate's Degree in Business Management may be considered.
  • 9 years of directly related on the job experience working in Project Controls or related field with a High School Diploma or equivalent may be considered.      
Desired: 
  • 7 years of experience working in Project Controls or related field.
EDUCATION:
Required: 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or related field and 5 years of experience working in Project Controls or related field.
  • Associate's Degree in Business Management or related field and 9 years of directly related on the job project control and/or management experience may be considered.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years of directly related on the job project control and/or management experience may be considered.  
Desired: 
  • Master's degree in related field.
OTHER SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Common Access Card (CAC) required to perform job duties.
  • This position is unaccompanied.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Active US DoD Secret clearance is required.
  • Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Kwajalein Atoll.
  • Traveling to Kwajalein Atoll, you are required to have a valid passport in your possession prior to relocation. You must maintain a current passport during your stay on Kwajalein Atoll.
