Provides support to US Army on Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands.
Works aboard the mobile Range Safety ship, USNV Worthy; requires extended days at sea in close quarters for mission support.
Applies technical knowledge to perform routine to complex tasks and measurements associated with RTS Telemetry equipment.
Participates in mission planning, preparation, and evaluation of requirements.
Operates and maintains the RTS Instrumentation and ship board systems.
Performs on site data preparation and data transmission.
Maintains Plant in Place Drawings and Circuit Layout.
Performs system checkouts, tests, and pre-mission simulations.
Analyzes pre-mission and post-mission data to detect sensor equipment malfunctions and deviations.
Operates, maintains and repairs to the component level, all types of telemetry equipment to include but not limited to Antenna Controls/Antenna’s, Analog/Digital Recorders, Receivers, Multiplex/Demux Equipment, Strip Charts.
Maintains documentation records of maintenance performed and mission support logs.
Provides on the job training to junior technicians on site equipment and procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
JOB SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS: Required:
Working knowledge of telemetry antennas and ground station equipment.
Willingness and ability to work aboard a ship for extended days at sea in close quarters for mission support.
Basic computer knowledge, to include MS Word and MS Excel.
Knowledge of networking fundamentals.
Desired:
Knowledge of Six Sigma program tools and methodologies and/or Six Sigma Certification.
Knowledge of RF cable fabrication.
IRIG Testing methods of telemetry systems.
EXPERIENCE (Years): Required:
4 years of experience as a telemetry technician, in communications or range operations and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering.
6 years of directly related on the job experience and an Associate's Degree or technical certification in Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering or related field may be considered.
8 years of directly related on the job experience and a High School Diploma or equivalent may be considered.
Desired:
Previous experience working aboard a ship or marine vessel.
EDUCATION: Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering and 4 years of experience as a telemetry technician, in communications or range operations.
Associate's Degree or technical certification in Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering and 6 years of directly related on the job experience may be considered.
High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years of directly related on the job experience may be considered.
Desired:
Computer networking certifications such as; CCIE, CCNP, JNCIE-ENT, WCNA or CompTIA Network+.
OTHER SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Common Access Card (CAC) required to perform job duties.

Active US DoD Secret clearance is required.
Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Kwajalein Atoll.
Traveling to Kwajalein Atoll, you are required to have a valid passport in your possession prior to relocation. You must maintain a current passport during your stay on Kwajalein Atoll.
