Calibration Technician III

Location: Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Tests, repairs, and calibrates TMDE following standard metrology and USATA guidelines; uses Measurement Standards in conjunction with U.S. Army, Air Force, Navy, MFR, and Local Calibration procedures.
  • Assists with training of laboratory personnel and TMDE coordinators.
  • Conducts Quality Assurance Audits and End Item Inspections in accordance with U.S. Army guidance.
  • Maintains current knowledge and skills pertaining to new methods of calibration and standards.
  • Uses and revises Army ICE, Fluke MetCal, and SureCal Automated Programs to verify TMDE.
  • Performs job duties around high voltage electrical equipment.
  • Maintains First Aid and CPR certifications.
  • Uses computer software to perform parts research, prepare required calibration and correction charts, and to submit changes to calibration procedures.
  • Performs production control procedures as needed or assigned.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
JOB SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
Required: 
  • Demonstrated ability to use Automated calibration procedures effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively troubleshoot and repair electronic equipment.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office products.
  • Willingness and physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Working knowledge of Electronic Principles, Radio Frequency, Physical/Dimensional, DC-LO, & Microwave Calibration Procedures to include Automated Calibration Software, TIMMS Database Management.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Desired: 
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma program tools and methodologies and/or Six Sigma Certification.
  • Calibration software programming skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot measurement systems.   
EXPERIENCE (Years):
Required: 
  • 8 years recent calibrating experience in a Military, Commercial or Private Industry Calibration Laboratory.    
Desired: 
  • Experienced in commercial automated calibration programs: MetCal, SureCAL, MetTeam, and LogWareIII Software.
  • 10 years calibration experience.
EDUCATION:
Required: 
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Current U.S. Driver License.
  • First Aid and CPR certifications or ability to obtain certifications within three (3) months of employment start date.
Desired: 
  • Military Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) Certificate.
  • Calibration Technician Certification.
OTHER SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Common Access Card (CAC) required to perform job duties.
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
  • This position is unaccompanied.
  • Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Kwajalein Atoll (Marshall Islands).
  • Traveling to Kwajalein Atoll, you are required to have a valid passport in your possession prior to relocation.
  • You must maintain a current passport during your stay on Kwajalein Atoll.
