Computer Operator II

Location: Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs entry level operation of personal computers and peripheral equipment in the Telecommunications Center, primarily on evening or night shifts.
  • Processes messages and alerts from AMHS, NIPRNet, SIPRNet and AUTODIN.
  • Observes and maintains circuit status and originates troubleshooting of circuits as required.
  • Operates secure facsimile and Secure Terminal Equipment (STE) phones.
  • Maintains access logs into a Secure Room or Restricted Area.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
JOB SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
Required: 
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Word, Outlook and Excel.
Desired: 
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma program tools and methodologies and/or Six Sigma Certification.
  • Experience in DMS, AMHS, AUTODIN and/or DCCS systems.
  • Previous military Message Center experience.  
EXPERIENCE (Years):
Required: 
  • 2 years of experience using computers, including Microsoft Office products.
  • In lieu of experience, an associate's degree in a related field may be considered.     
Desired: 
  • 4 years of employment during which the use of computers with MSOffice products was a major job responsibility.
  • 2 years of experience in a military Telecommunications Center with AMHS and/or AUTODIN.
EDUCATION:
Required: 
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate's degree in a related field may be considered in lieu of experience.
Desired: 
  • Associate's degree or technical certification in a computer related field.
OTHER SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Common Access Card (CAC) required to perform job duties.
  • This position is unaccompanied.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Active US DoD Secret clearance is required.
  • Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Kwajalein Atoll.
  • Traveling to Kwajalein Atoll, you are required to have a valid passport in your possession prior to relocation. You must maintain a current passport during your stay on Kwajalein Atoll.
