Electronics Technician I

Location: Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs duties of an operations specialist; supports all department radar operations and maintenance activities.
  • Drafts, verifies and updates documentation of the Kwajalein Radar department systems.
  • Creates, verifies and updates schematics for the Kwajalein Radar department systems.
  • Maintains and manages spare parts to support all MPS-36 and ASR-11, and other Kwajalein Radars assets.
  • Orders parts and warehouse items as needed; tracks progress of items ordered until arrival at site; prepares and submits TP01 requests for high priority items.
  • Maintains maintenance and operational publications for ATC Systems and ensures most current versions are on-hand.      
  • Conducts quarterly facility safety inspections on each Kwajalein Radar department facility; supports other safety and environmental periodic inspections and requirements.
  • Supports maintenance management data entry and other maintenance management requirements.
  • Serves as facility key custodian.
  • Ensures test equipment is brought to and picked up from the Calibration Lab as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
JOB SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
Required: 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Capable of setting up and operating standard Electronic test equipment.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new procedures, processes and equipment.
Desired: 
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma program tools and methodologies and/or Six Sigma Certification.
  • AutoCAD.
  • Allen Bradley controls.
  • Familiarity with Kwajalein Radars systems and equipment.   
EXPERIENCE (Years):
Required: 
  • 0 years of experience performing radar and ATC system troubleshooting and maintenance.    
Desired: 
  • 3 months of experience with Kwajalein Radars systems and equipment.
  • 3 months of experience performing radar and ATC system troubleshooting and maintenance with Kwajalein based systems.
EDUCATION:
Required: 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
Desired: 
  • Military or civilian radar and/or ATC systems troubleshooting and maintenance training.
OTHER SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Common Access Card (CAC) required to perform job duties.
  • This position is unaccompanied
  • US Citizenship required. 
  • US DoD Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one is required.
  • Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Kwajalein Atoll.
  • Traveling to Kwajalein Atoll, you are required to have a valid passport in your possession prior to relocation.
  • You must maintain a current passport during your stay on Kwajalein Atoll.
